As a center of excellence in HIV medicine, our physicians and providers specialize in treatment and prevention of the virus. To us that means going beyond the HIV diagnosis itself and providing whole person care, whether medical, emotional, or daily wellness. We take all major insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial.  If you do not have insurance coverage, we offer financial assistance programs including Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.

We know talking about your sexual health can be uncomfortable or intimidating. Your sexual health is an essential part of taking care of your overall health. At the David Powell Health Center, we want you to feel empowered to share your truths and lived experiences whether that be about sex, sexuality, gender or creed.  Our forward-thinking practitioners value any thoughts, questions, or concerns you may have and encourage you to be 100% yourself.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

Initial visits typically take two to three hours. You will meet with a social worker to discuss available services and your health care needs. You will also meet your clinical care team, including your provider, nurse and medical assistant.

At the end of your visit, you will leave with a prescription, the medications needed to keep you living your best life, and the knowledge that our team is here for you.

What to bring to your first appointment:

  • All herbal supplements

  • All vitamins

  • All over-the-counter medications

  • Insurance card

  • Driver’s license or picture ID

  • If you are on Medicare and have elected a Medicare Managed Care or Medicare Replacement Plan, bring that card and your Medicare card.
